Enjoy everything Llandeilo has to offer! Spend your days discovering the surrounding area as there are many things to do nearby. Your home away from home gives you exclusive access to an entire house designed to allow you to live as a local. Llandeilo has been named Best place to live in Wales 2022. https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/llandeilo-carmarthenshire-best-place-to-live-wales-uk-f7wgkshfh Llandeilo is situated in the stunning Towy Valley, one of the most beautiful in Britain and near to the Brecon Beacons. With its wild mountains where magnificent Red Kites soar, nearby historic towns, famous gardens, Roman sites, gold mines and romantic castles, it’s a valley rich in myth, legend and history and leads to some of Britain's finest beaches. The area is very popular for walkers and cyclists all year round. Local walks include Penlan Park at the top of the town and the historic Swing Bridge in the valley below. Llandeilo also has its very own castle situated in Dinefwr Park where you can also visit the very impressive Newton House, owned by the National Trust. This magnificent mansion provides an atmospheric circa 1912 experience. Exhibitions on the first floor tell Dinefwrs story and inspires you to explore the castle and park. You can also go for beautiful walks and visit nature at its best, you may even spot a deer or two around its expansive grounds. There are many other attractions nearby, including two further impressive castles, Carreg Cennen and Dryslwyn. Carreg Cennen is officially the most romantic ruin in Wales as voted by readers of Countryfile magazine. Perched on a great limestone crag nearly 300ft above the river Cennen, the dramatic silhouette of Carreg Cennen dominates the skyline for miles around and commands stunning views over the Carmarthenshire countryside. Golden Grove locally known as Gelli Aur is a Country Park with 60 acres of wooded parkland surrounding Golden Grove mansion. It was once the home of the Vaughan and Cawdor families. The park features a number of nature trails. With its beautiful walks and wildlife it is definitely one to visit. The deer are wonderful and you may even see a peacock wandering around the grounds. There is also a small park for children and a lovely little cafe. The National Botanic Gardens of Wales is set in the beautiful Carmarthenshire countryside and right on our doorstep. The garden is a fascinating blend of the modern and historic. Here you’ll find an inspiring range of themed gardens, the worlds largest single span glasshouse, the British Bird of Prey Centre, a tropical Butterfly House, play areas and a national nature reserve, all set in a Regency landscape which provides the stage for a packed programme of events and courses throughout the year. Aberglasney House and Gardens was made famous by the BBC TV series ‘A Garden Lost in Time’ which followed its restoration. Today it is quite simply one of Wales finest gardens. A renowned plantsman’s paradise with a unique Elizabethan cloister garden at its heart, Aberglasney offers the opportunity to explore more than 10 acres of magnificent gardens which along with the fully restored ground floor of Aberglasney grade ll listed mansion. Aberglasney has been an inspiration to poets since 1477. Pembrey Country Park is well worth a visit as it consists of 500 acres of parkland and the award winning Cefn Sidan beach spanning 8 miles. The park contains visitor attractions such as the ski slope, toboggan ride, adventure play areas, miniature railway and mountain bike trails. Other close attractions include Folly Farm, Heatherton, Oakwood, Tenby and Saundersfoot, Dan yr Ogof Caves and Dinosaur Park, The Gower and Mumbles, the home of Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Our stay in Wales was truly unforgettable! Nestled in a peaceful setting, this accommodation was the perfect base for our family, including our two dogs, to explore the Welsh countryside. The property was spotless, comfortable, and well-equipped. We immediately felt at home. A highlight of our trip was the easy access to the National Trust and the nearby castle ruins. We spent our days exploring these historic sites and wandering scenic trails right from our doorstep. The castle ruins, in particular, provided a magical backdrop for family walks and a fascinating glimpse into the past. Llandeilo also has some lovely coffee shops, bakeries, artisan chocolate, art galleries and more After days of adventure, returning to such a tranquil retreat was perfect. The location offered peace and quiet, making it easy to unwind and enjoy quality family time. We highly recommend this retreat for anyone looking to experience the charm of Wales. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

Perfect location in Llandeilo. Stunning views inside and out, but so easy to walk to everything from there. The road it’s on is just next to the high street but is very quiet, and connects to the high street at various points, so feels like a real sanctuary. Inside, everything you could want (including great dishwasher which was extremely welcome) and high standards. Visited with 2 children and there is plenty of space for hanging out as a family, but also for them to get away, play games, enjoy etc while the adults get some peace and quiet! Loved the wood burning stove, which worked very well. We will definitely return, I know Llandeilo very well but there is always something new to explore, fantastic rural walks, castle, National Trust property, local artisans, the list goes on. What a great place to stay.

A great place to stay to explore the area. Close to the town so convenient for shopping and eating but very spacious and peaceful with very easy parking. The property is very clean and well equipped- more crockery and cutlery etc than we have at home 😀 The town is lovely and great to wander around the local woods and parks - including Dinefwr. The walk across the river on the foot bridge is beautiful too.

This is a great place to stay. The views from the dining room and master bedroom are amazing, you can get lost just watching the river in the armchair. The showers are powerful, the bathrooms are spacious, as are the bedrooms and the kitchen is perfect. We don’t use the livingroom at the front of the house but from what I saw, it looked really homely. All in all a really great place to stay - if I’m back that way again, I will be sure to book it. Thanks AnnMarie ☺️

Had a lovely stay, such a lovely location, walking distance from the town and the house was cosy, welcoming and had everything we needed. Recommend taking bikes as it was lovely to bike ride around the local park and visit the castle. We stayed an extra night as we had such a lovely time and didn’t want to leave. Lovely hosts who catered to our needs of an earlier check in. Would return.

We had a great stay with our two dogs at Hilltop. The location was great for the town with the benefit of parking right outside. The house was spacious and comfortable with everything we needed. The shower we used in the downstairs was excellent. It was great having access to the garden and we really enjoyed our stay (despite the weather!)
